Before installation
Prepare a Windows test server that meets the chosen release’s requirements, administrator access, storage for mail and backups, DNS names and a trusted TLS certificate. Review the release notes and deployment guide for the exact prerequisites.
Validate the workflows you will migrate
- Record your client versions and required mail, calendar, contact, sharing and delegated workflows.
- Test representative mailboxes, external delivery, synchronization and access permissions using the client validation guide.
- Test backup restoration, cutover and rollback. Resolve failed acceptance checks before production migration.
