MailSite 11 brings MAPI over HTTP for Classic Outlook, Exchange Web Services for compatible desktop clients, a redesigned ExpressPro webmail experience, and a new Exchange ActiveSync server for mobile devices. The release also updates IMAP, SMTP, filtering, and server administration.
MailSite 11 expands the ways people can use one mailbox across desktop, browser, and mobile clients. It also modernizes the services behind those clients, with web endpoints served by MailSite itself rather than a separate IIS installation.
NEW MAPI over HTTP for Classic Outlook
The new MAPI server lets Microsoft Outlook Classic connect to MailSite 11 for email, calendars, and contacts. People who rely on the desktop Outlook workflow can evaluate MailSite without first changing their everyday mail application.

MAPI over HTTP is a different connection path from the ActiveSync method described in our earlier Outlook article. Client editions and account types vary, so test the specific Outlook build and workflows your organization needs, including meetings, contact changes, shared folders, and offline synchronization. NEW Exchange Web Services
MailSite 11 adds an Exchange Web Services (EWS) server for compatible desktop clients. Mac Mail can use EWS to work with mail, calendars, and contacts in a MailSite mailbox. This gives organizations another way to support mixed desktop environments while keeping mailbox data on their MailSite server.

NEW ExpressPro webmail and full text search
ExpressPro has been redesigned around a three-pane mail view with folder navigation, message preview, themes, and full text search. Mail, contacts, calendars, and account settings are available in one browser workspace.

Contacts and calendars use the same updated interface. Administrators can also open the MailSite Console from ExpressPro to manage domains, accounts, and services allowed by their privileges.

NEW Exchange ActiveSync for mobile devices
MailSite 11 includes a new Exchange ActiveSync service with protocol support through version 16.1. It supports the mail, folder, calendar, contact, and attachment synchronization used by compatible mobile clients, including iOS Mail and Android Gmail.
Thunderbird users can also evaluate TbSync for contact and calendar synchronization. As with any client connection, confirm the features and versions you need during a pilot.
NEW IMAP, SMTP, and mail filtering
The new IMAP service improves standard email client access and adds full text search. Rewritten SMTP receiving and delivery services update the path for accepting, filtering, queuing, and delivering messages.
Native ClamAV integration adds an antivirus scanning option, while Bayesian spam filtering helps classify unwanted mail. Administrators can combine these tools with the server's existing mail policies and review their results in the Console.
NEW Certbot for automatic TLS certificate management
MailSite 11 helps keep your email connections secure with automatic certificate management. Certbot handles certificate requests and renewals, reducing manual work and helping you avoid expired certificates. Manage everything from the MailSite Console. Explore certificate management.
IMPROVED Administration and deployment
MailSite 11 updates the Console for managing domains, mailboxes, mailing lists, mail flow, security, services, and logs. Changes to indexing, synchronization, diagnostics, and service management are intended to make the server easier to operate and troubleshoot.

Webmail, management APIs, and synchronization endpoints are served through MailSite's HTTP service. MailSite 11 no longer requires Windows Internet Information Services for these web components, reducing the number of separate services administrators need to configure.
