Extra steps need to be taken to install ASP.NET prior to installing ExpressPro on Windows 2012. No special steps are needed to install MailSite without the web client.

Installing MailSite onto Windows Server 2012

Please follow the steps below to get the server ready for the installation of MailSite ExpressPro

1. Install the OS
2. Install all the latest Windows Updates
3. Open Server Manager
• Go to the 'Roles and Features Section'
• Click on 'Tasks' and select 'Add Roles and Features'
4. When the GUI opens follow these steps
• Click 'Next'
• Select 'Role-Based or feature-based installation then click 'Next'
• Select the local server then click 'Next'
• Select Web Server (IIS) and when the popup screen opens click 'Add Features' then click 'Next'
• Select '.Net Framework 3.5 Features'
• Open '.Net Framework 4.5 Features' select 'ASP.Net 4.5' then click 'Next'
• Click 'Next'
• Make these selections
• Under 'Security' select these options
1. Basic Authentication
2. Windows Authentication
• Under 'Application Development' select these options
1. ASP.NET 3.5
• When the popup opens click 'Add Features'.
2. ASP.NET 4.5
• When the popup opens click 'Add Features'.
• Click 'Next'.
• Click 'Install'.
• When the installation has completed click the 'Close' button.
5. Due to the nature of the OS you will now need to install additional windows updates to be 100% current with the latest updates due to the addition of the ASP.NET 3.5 install.
